Introducing Arwana

In 2019, I moved to the United Kingdom from my home country, Nigeria, to pursue a master’s degree. Having spent over two decades in my dear country, it was both scary and exciting to finally experience a new culture and explore another part of the world.

After my degree ended, I began my professional journey in the UK. Over time, I had the privilege of working with SMEs as well as a Fortune 500 company. Throughout my work experience, the remarkable thing I came to realise was that my background and experience working in Nigeria had provided me with the skill sets that allowed me to get good jobs in the UK. This epiphany eventually laid the foundation for the birth of Arwana.

Arwana was created out of the realisation that the only significant difference between myself and millions of highly skilled and experienced Nigerians was our geographical location. In an increasingly globalised world, where companies now have the means to access and recruit talents from across the globe, I saw an opportunity to help bridge the gap and allow the world to benefit from the exceptional talents that Nigeria has to offer.

With its vibrant culture, rich history, and a large population of over 200 million people, Nigeria is an untapped treasure trove of talent that’s waiting to be discovered. The country has a stellar track record of producing highly skilled professionals in various fields, including marketing, tech, design, creative arts, etc. Nigerian talents possess a unique blend of skills and experiences that can be of immense value to organisations around the world. Their resilience, resourcefulness and adaptability, honed in a dynamic environment enables them to thrive and excel in the workplace. Also, the education system in Nigeria produces stellar graduates with impeccable work ethics who are well-versed in their respective fields.

Yet, due to many international companies not being aware of the depth and quality of talent in Nigeria, many of these talents remain untapped and this rich pool of skilled professionals, overlooked. This lack of awareness has resulted in a missed opportunity for international organisations because they inadvertently overlook the wealth of talent that exists in the country.

Arwana aims to change this and bridge this gap by actively showcasing Nigeria’s exceptional talents on a global scale. These talents bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a unique cultural understanding that can enrich any workplace. Through Arwana, international companies can discover and recruit a diverse talent pool of exceptional Nigerians who are eager to drive business growth. It’s also a cost-effective solution as organisations can save up to 60% in hiring costs due to the lower cost of living in Nigeria, compared to countries like the UK and the US.

For exceptional talents in Nigeria,  Arwana offers a gateway to global opportunities. We provide a platform where they can showcase their skills, and gain exposure to projects and experiences that will enhance their professional growth.

For me, I envision a future where organisations all over the world are benefiting from the impeccable talent of Nigerian professionals, and Nigerians have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of industries worldwide. It’s more than just recruitment. It’s an opportunity to showcase the untapped potential of Nigerian talents.

So, if you’re an ambitious international organisation that’s seeking exceptional talents with fresh perspectives, innovative ideas and great work ethics, contact us today and let us be your strategic talent partner!
